About "CUTTINGS"

SYNOPSIS

CUTTINGS is the most realistic of the pieces.  A burnt out ex-shrink (who is also a registered sex offender and self-mutilator) is on the run from the law with a l7-year old runaway boy, with whom he hopes to find not only love but a sort of redemption.  As they journey to the Space Center, they stop at the boy’s home in Indiana, where the shrink succeeds in destroying any hope of reconciliation between the boy and his mom.  At the end, the man realizes that, contrary to his hopes, he has only succeeded in turning the boy into a tragic copy of himself.  The play follows two alternating time lines: one shows the journey from Chicago down to Florida, and the other shows their first meeting and night together.
