ABOUT  "ESTELLE SINGERMAN"

SYNOPSIS

ESTELLE SINGERMAN uses magical realism as it follows the desperate journey of an lady trying to achieve immortality in the form of getting somebody to say Kaddish for her after she dies. She meets Warren – a disillusioned widower, fallen away from his faith, and contemplating suicide – and takes him on a surrealistic, Chagall-like trip through one summer night in Chicago.  They encounter a tarot-reading bag lady, the ghost of a murdered rabbi, a talking giraffe, and ultimately the spirit of Warren’s dead wife who just wants to go back being star stuff.   Oh, and there’s also a dangerous unicorn running loose.    By the time the sun comes up over Lake Michigan,  both Estelle and Warren have found faith and peace while the unicorn claims its victim.
