ABOUT  "WOMEN OF CHOICE"

SYNOPSIS

WOMEN OF CHOICE is a collection of monologues, each spoken by a woman who has made a significant choice in her life. Some of the stories are comic, some sad; some have been great and brave choices, others have been bad and regretful, some women are content, some angered and desperate, some chaotic, some serene.  The show is in the manner of  ‘Talking With” or “Vagina Monologues.”

The collection as it stands --- it’s constantly growing --- numbers around 30 monologues.  The idea is that any producing organization can make of the evening what it wants: they may be grouped in many categories: failures; successes; controversial; political; domestic; dark and darker; funny and sillier --- or whatever approach works, whatever seems appropriate for the theater’s mission or its audience base or its season schedule or its budget, and so forth.  (I have put together a sample evening as an example.)
